Two Pacific storms will be rolling into Carson Valley this weekend, one weak one that will bring down temperatures and a stronger one that will bring down the snow levels, according to a National Weather Service statement issued this morning. The second storm is expected to bring rain and mountain snow Saturday night with snow levels starting high and dropping to 5,500 feet. Several inches of snow is possible above 7,000 feet.
Sunday is Veteran's Day, but Monday will be the government holiday. Banks and schools will be closed. Today, Valley Marines will observe the Corps' birthday. Both the Senior Center and Scarselli Elementary will host their annual veterans' programs.
This morning the Nevada Highway Patrol is working a property damage accident at Highway 50 and 28, The accident occurred at 6:11 a.m. and should be well on the way to being cleared by now.
There was a small fire up at Spooner Summit Thursday around 5 p.m. Carson firefighters put that one down. Also a truck hit a light post at Riverview and Highway 395 around lunchtime on Thursday, blocking the road for an hour and closing the highway while the truck was removed.
