'Nutcracker ballet' in Carson

The Pinkerton Ballet Theatre presents its 19th annual production of "The Nutcracker" ballet Thanksgiving weekend at the Carson City Community Center.


Performance times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $22 for general admission, $18 for seniors and children available at Sugar Pine Cove gift shop, 1087 S. Carson St. or 884-4603. Information, (775) 841-4232.


The cast of 90 includes husband and wife team Corbin and Whitney Popp as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier in the Carson City production of "The Nutcracker."


Carson City native Tristi Ann McMaster Robinson dances the role of the Snow Queen while Charles Neshyba-Hodges performs as the Snow King.


Sharing the featured role in Arabian Pas de Deux are Natalie Berger of Carson City and Tamra McMaster Mehringer from Lake Tahoe.


The Russian dance is performed by Armen and Ruben Hagopian, folkloric character dancers from Southern California.


The role of Clara will be shared by Morgan Gillott of Carson City and Brittany Ervin of Reno. Ryan Frier of Sparks will perform as the Nutcracker Prince and Becca Kitchen of Reno and Brianna Goodfellow will share the Dew Drop Fairy role.


The ballet will also be performed 7 p.m. Dec. 7 and 2 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno. Tickets for the Reno performance are $35.20 for general admission and $27.50 for seniors and students, with group discounts. Tickets are available at the Grand Sierra Resort, 789-2285.
