Douglas County and business officials have teamed up to host a community meeting Tuesday at the CVIC Hall in Minden to learn how to lessen the likelihood of bears making themselves at home in your neighborhood.
Officials from the Nevada Department of Wildlife and the BEAR League " Bear Education Aversion Response " are set to talk about why Carson Valley is experiencing more bear/human conflict and what residents can do when a bear is in their neighborhoods.
Douglas County officials are to present information about the recently approved bear-proof trash container ordinance.
The meeting, hosted by Douglas County and the Business Council of Douglas County, is set for 6 p.m. at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda Ave., Minden.
