Donations stock food closet shelves

The Carson Valley Community Food Closet received the following donations for the month of October. Canned goods and nonperishables received (in pounds): Topaz Wellness Center (30), Betty and Sal Salinas (64), Town of Genoa - donuts (245), Christ Presbyterian Church (20), N. Riley - tomatoes (33), Douglas County Public Library (820), Carson Valley Middle School (29), Dusty Fisher (38), Rite Aid (55), Minden Village, Sierra Nevada Trading Co. (20), Daniel Mobley-Topaz VFW No. 3630 - onions (2,000), Unity Church of Today (75), Family Support Council (35), St. Gall Catholic Church (367) and Douglas Seniors at Lake Tahoe (23). Regular grocery contributors: Scolari's, Raley's, Smith's, Starbucks, Trader Joe's, Costco and Pony Espresso.


Cash donations received: Jay and Jolaine Johnson, Burl and Rosemarie Middendorf, Johnny and Mary Fauria, Coventry Cross Episcopal Church, Marie Machetta, Bonnie Fettic, John Williams, Joan Rose, R.F. Edling, Catherine Frietas (United Way), Merrill Construction and Steve and Sandra Bolger. Donations were also received from Raley's customers and employees, Smith's customers, Neighbor To Neighbor and Scolari's customers and employees.


Remember all your donations help to fill the shelves as the holidays begin. Drop off your grocery or cash donations at 1255 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville.
