Genoans held a 7 p.m. Monday meeting to select a town manager, but did not because they wanted more information. Of the three, Bayan Lewis, Andrew Sheehy and Claire Fortier, I only know one. Fortier is former managing editor of the Tahoe Daily Tribune and still lives at Tahoe, according to the most recent information I was able to find. Bayan Lewis owns a home in Gardnerville.
The one concern I have about tonight's bear meeting is that there won't be equal representation from the bears. We haven't heard much from our ursine residents in the past few weeks, so maybe they've been waiting for the meeting to find out what happens. The session is set for 6 p.m. tonight at the CVIC Hall. Bears, and everyone else, get in free.
It's, like 50 degrees outside before sunrise. Normally, I would be forecasting some sort of storm, but we're looking at just isolated showers this morning. Winds are going to be brisk today, though, with gusts hitting up to 40 mph.
