Tonight Minden kicks off three straight days of Christmas celebration. They'll be lighting off the town's gazebo and Christmas tree tonight. Minden is hosting their Christmas fair Saturday and Sunday. Douglas High School will be hosting its annual craft fair on Saturday. And on Sunday evening, Genoans will gather to carol and light the town's Christmas tree.

The Parade of Lights will close down Highway 395 through Gardnerville and Minden on Saturday night. The parade starts at Lampe Park and ends in Minden. The temperatures will be Christmasy, even if there won't be any snow. The high on Saturday will hit 39, so bundle up if you're going to the parade.

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement this morning warning us to expect high winds on Monday. There's a big storm rolling into the Northwest and the forecasters are expecting downslope winds of up to 60 mph to blast through Western Nevada. P.S. There's still not so much as a molecule of moisture in the forecast through Thursday.
