The Carson Valley Community Food Closet wishes to thank the local businesses and individuals who made contributions for the month of August. Both cash donations and collected can goods supplement the supply from local grocers and bakeries. Together these generous gifts keep the food closet shelves stocked for distribution to those in need here in the community.


The following donations were received for August. Food donations (pounds): Douglas County School District Nutrition Office (150), Mike Smith (89), Unity Church of Today (469), Rich Repoza (575), Douglas County Public Library (61), St. Gall Catholic Church (242), Ralston Purina Ð Cereal (2,628), Sweetie Pies By Wendy (15), Christ Presbyterian Church (15), Farmers Market/Gardnerville (1,973), Carson Valley Methodist Church (49), Russell's Mercantile (295), Coventry Cross Episcopal Church (30), Piñon Hills Elementary (10), and Tahoe Community Church (13). Regular grocery sponsors: Raley's, Scolari's, Smith's, Costco, Trader Joe's and Starbucks.
