After leaving the gym Thursday morning, Rob Resnik stopped by The Bank Parlor and Pub in downtown Minden for some eggs and coffee. What he found was an empty building with its interior gutted out. On the front door was a sign stating that the building's locks had been changed and that the parlor was no longer in business. The notice warned anyone trying to enter the building would be arrested.
"It's a shame. This is a historic section, and it's all falling apart," said Marlisa Hartmann, another customer hanging out in front of the store.
Hartmann said she was friends with the owner of The Bank, Cheryl Bohler.
"We were at the very end when she packed the last things. She was choked up," said Hartmann.
Bohler operated The Bank for six years. She said decreased revenues and increased costs contributed to its closure.
