Pedestrians in downtown Gardnerville need to watch out for construction zones for the next two weeks as Sharkey's Casino upgrades its historic building.
"We want to make the building more attractive to customers," said Sharkey's general manager Bernie Curtis.
Curtis said they hope to complete the work within two weeks, which includes painting the building's exterior green and tan.
"We want more Victorian-style colors," Curtis said.
He said they're also going to bring back some of the building's original red brick reminiscent of old-time Gardnerville.
"We want it to fit in better with Gardnerville," he said.
Curtis said Sharkey's collaborated with the Town of Gardnerville for the color scheme and that both parties were happy with the plans.
Curtis said they'll also be adding some shutters and cornices to the building.
