Three Reno teenagers were arrested early Tuesday and a fourth was at-large after they were stopped at the gate of an exclusive Glenbrook residence in two vehicles which had been stolen from Lithia Subaru.
Douglas Sheriff's Sgt. Tom Mezzetta identified the three captured suspects as:
-- Jessica Highline, 19, charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of burglary tools. Her bail was $27,500, but she has a no-bail warrant from Washoe County for possession of dangerous drugs.
-- Leah Rose Turner, 19, was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of burglary tools, possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bail was set at $48,500.
-- Anthony David Karnes, 19, was charged with burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, eluding an officer, possession of burglary tools and fictitious license plates. He is being held on $87,591 bail.
Mezzetta said Deputy Michael Matthews was traveling east on Highway 50 near Glenbrook when he saw two vehicles traveling westbound stop abruptly and make U-turns into a driveway where they were blocked by a security gate.
One of the stolen cars made a run toward Matthews but struck a tree before striking the officer. Matthews ordered the occupants of each vehicle out and two male subjects fled into the woods. Matthews was able to secure the two women with wrist restraints before backup assistance arrived bringing canine officers.
During the vehicle search, officers found drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance.
At 7 a.m., officers responded to a residential alarm in Glenbrook and officers found a door that had been forced open. A male subject was flushed from the home and taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.
He was identified and associated with the stolen vehicle through his clothing description and a facial injury. The second male was still missing Tuesday afternoon.
