The Douglas High School junior varsity girls' soccer team put together a 10-0 win over Wooster last week.

Amanda Ferraro scored in the first three minutes and defender Clara Ritger intercepted the ensuing kickoff, and played the ball up to Ashley Hill, who fired it on net.

The shot was blocked but Kyra Barth followed the shot up to score the Tigers' second goal of the game.

Becca Neuffer added another goal 11 minutes into the game and then Hill scored from 30 yards out.

Jennifer Gorton later brough the ball downfield and scored off her own rebound off the crossbar.

Briana Rutherdale brought the score to 6-0 off an assist from Gorton.

With 12 minutes left in the half, Aleassa Anzelone saw her first action and made a save.

Hill wrapped up the half with her second goal of the game.

Ferraro made it a clean repeat to open the second half, scoring unassisted within the first three minutes.

Barth later added her second goal and Natalie Frietas wrapped up the scoring with a straight shot that pushed the score to 10-0.

Douglas is now 9-3 overall and 5-2 in league play.

Douglas faced one of its biggest tests of the season against a talented and athletic North Valleys team, eventually prevailing 21-7.

Douglas took a 13-7 lead into halftime after North Valleys cut the score with their top receiver making a nice catch in the end zone late in the second quarter.

Ryan Ake later broke a 60-yard touchdown run to put the Tigers up 21-7 after converting the two-point conversion.

The defense managed to control the game against a tough Panther offense as Colton Hughes broke up two potential touchdown passes in the end zone.

Scott Rudnick and Shane Connoly each had big games on the defensive line.

The offensive front five controlled the line as Zack Tierney, Jake Fowler, Riley Griffith, Patrick Miller and August Greth each continued to improve.

Austin Neddenreip moved the offense with efficiency and the Tiger ball carriers ran the ball with efficiency.

Douglas scrapped together a 27-7 win despite turning the ball over seven times.

The Tigers suffered their first loss of the season, dropping a 25-16, 15-25, 15-9 match against Carson.

"As I told the girls, they played hard and worked hard but tonight Carson played better," Douglas coach David Trujillo said. "We have to give them credit for that."
