The Douglas boys' soccer team moved within a game of clinching its first Sierra League title Saturday, beating North Valleys 3-0.
The Tigers will host South Tahoe tonight at 7 p.m. A win would give the Tigers at least a share of the title and a Carson loss to North Valleys would give Douglas the title outright.
Oscar Gonzalez opened up the scoring Saturday, taking a through ball from Vega and putting it past the North Valleys keeper for his first goal since returning from an ankle injury last week.
Edgar Arceo got hauled down in the penalty box by the Panther keeper in the 21st minute and coverted the resulting penalty kick for the 2-0 lead.
Vega put his team-leading 12th goal in the net in the second half, beating two defenders across the midline and cracking a shot from about 18 yards out to the near post, giving Douglas the final 3-0 lead.
The Tigers improved to 16-4 overall and 11-3 in league play.
