The Carson Valley Community Food Closet took delivery of a brand new 2007 GMC panel truck donated by Big George Ventures and Steve (in memory of). The commercial truck will be used for food drive pick-ups and grocery donations from local markets and businesses. The truck has a 14-foot holding area that will store up to six pallets and features a lift-gate for loading. The lift-gate will make loading and unloading much easier for volunteers. A Sign Shop in Gardnerville provided the signage for the new food closet vehicle.
After years of use, the old 1976 panel truck was literally on its last tires. The sparkling white cab-over style panel truck is a huge improvement over the old truck used since 1998. Numerous items on the old truck needed repair or replacement after years of use. Big George Ventures and Steve (in memory of) stepped up to the plate and generously donated the truck.
As the holiday season approaches, the new truck will be in demand with the many food drives and grocery donations to pick up and deliver. The volunteer team for these delivery and pick-up jobs will definitely appreciate this new vehicle. On behalf of the Carson Valley Community Food Closet, director Eileen Boettiger wishes to thank Big George Ventures and Steve (in memory of) for this generous donation. When you see that big white truck going down the road, you'll know that good work is being done for the entire community.
