Project Santa Claus will be collecting good quality, used winter clothing for kids and adults through Dec. 8. Clothes will be sorted by volunteers and available to families on Project Santa Claus distribution day.
Clothing collection boxes will be available at the following locations:
Carson Valley Medical Center, 1107 Highway 395, Gardnerville: University of Nevada Cooperative Extension Office (4-H), 1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville; R & T Cleaners, 1389 Lampe Drive, Gardnerville: Raley's camera department 1363 Highway 395, Gardnerville; Edward D. Jones, 1483 Highway 395, Gardnerville and 1685 Highway 395, Minden; Nevada State Bank, 1656 Highway 395, Minden; seven locations in Minden Village and World Gym, 885 Mahogany, Minden.
Project Santa Claus includes children of Carson Valley Community Food Closet families, children of Family Support Council families, children in the CASA program and families recommended by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. All families live in Douglas County and are first approved for need by their sponsoring agencies.
Clean, good condition used winter clothing in wearable condition is needed for adults, teens, children and infants. Items needed include sweaters, jackets, coats, sweat suits, jeans, pants, hats, scarves, gloves, boots, shoes and winter night wear.
