The Coleville High volleyball team rebounded from a sluggish start to post a four-game nonleague victory at Lee Vining on Saturday.
Coleville won the match 26-24, 25-20, 21-25, 25-13.
The start of the first game wasn't pretty, according to coach Kevin Kraft. At one point Coleville was down 1-8 and the Lady Wolves were showing no signs of the team that played the weekend before in a solid performance at the Yerington Tournament. After a time-out and a sound talking to by coach Kraft, however, the Wolves "got their heads in the game" and came back to take the game from the Tigers, 26-24.
Coleville won the second game 25-20, lost the third game 21-25 and "finally put their game faces on" to win the fourth game 25-13.
Setter and outside hitter Amara Rowley led the Wolves with an all-around performance that included 16 assists, 10 kills and 4 aces. Kassie Pemberton had 21 assists, 1 kill and 2 aces.
Kymberlee Curti was a force at the net as she delivered 18 kills to go with 1 dig. Kim Torley had 5 kills, 2 blocks and 3 aces. Skyler Isbell had 2 kills, 2 blocks, and 2 aces. Molly Garcia had 2 blocks and 1 kill, and Tawny Booher had 2 aces and 1 back row attack for a kill.
The Lady Wolves who faced Excel Christian on Tuesday in Reno, return to action Friday, at 4 p.m. at home against Gabbs and then host Big Pine at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
