A bi-state commission examining management issues after the Angora fire split into two committees on Monday in order to get through its work by a March 2008 deadline.

The commission is set to meet again on Sept. 21. One item on the agenda is discussion of an emergency order suspending some policies in the basin to reduce the threat of wildfire.

The City of South Lake Tahoe today may increase its redevelopment zone along Highway 50 to include the Y by next summer. Council members meet beginning at 9 a.m. this morning. The city's Stateline Ski Run area redevelopment zone is responsible for all the fill arriving in Carson Valley by truck. The fill is coming from the Convention Center construction site just over the border from the Stateline casinos.

The North Lake Tahoe Bonanza is reporting a California man flipped a car over on its side during a high speed chase in Incline Village on Friday.

Washoe County deputies pursued the man down Highway 431 until the driver crashed into some trees at State Route 28 and Ponderosa Avenue.

Aaron Rogers, 25, was taken into custody after the accident. Rogers received minor injuries.
