The Douglas girls' golf team continued their torrid pace Tuesday with a team victory at the Thunder Canyon Golf Course.

The Tigers shot a season-low 430 as a team, a full 79 strokes better than second-place Carson.

Douglas senior Katie Gettman and junior Shelby Louie tied for first overall, each shooting a 79.

Freshman Bethany Wurster shot an 83 to take third, giving Douglas a top-three sweep.

Heather Henderson shot a 91, Michele Nikkels 98 and Katelyn Lee shot a 113 in her first tournament of the season.

"I couldn't be more proud of the girls," Douglas coach Steve Gustafson said. "They continue to get better each week.

"I witnessed Shelby Louie hole out from 120 yards on the par-5 No. 9 for a birdie. It was a tremendous shot.

"The girls are more determined than ever to play even better. We now know that we can get three girls shooting in the 70s, which is unheard of."
