The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Western Nevada starting at 10 a.m. and running until 8 p.m. Winds out of the southwest of 20-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected. If you're driving somewhere dry, and after the last winter and summer, who isn't, look out for blowing dust. Visibilities will be down to a mile in some places. Motorists in high profile vehicles should be watching for cross winds, or just parking them somewhere safe. The Meneley Elementary School wind gauge is showing winds out of the south at about 15 mph this morning.

Temperatures are supposed to drop and the showers are supposed to start at 11 a.m. The temperature out now, in front of the low, is 57 degrees. Once the low passes temperatures will be much cooler, with an expected high of 68 degrees and a 30 percent chance of showers. The Weather Service is betting on 60 percent for showers tonight, but that's just a bet. The last weather statement on their Web site is 18 hours old, so I'll take a look later and update it when they issue something new.

Today is the last day for the Lampe Park Farmers Market. Minden's market will go another week and then it will wrap up for the season, too. It's beginning to feel like fall around here.
