The Corley Ranch will open their own farmers market from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, Sept. 22 and 29 at 859 Highway 395, Gardnerville, one mile south of Pinenut Road.
All fruits and vegetables have been organically grown at the Corley Ranch, meaning they use no pesticides. For sale will be a variety of summer and winter squash, peppers including jalapeños, tomatoes, field corn, watermelons and other vegetables.
The farmers market store will continue to be open every weekend in October from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the Harvest Festival Extraordinary. At that time red, white, blue, orange and yellow pumpkins in various sizes will be available. They have over 15,000 pumpkins to choose from.
Every weekend in October, families will be able to enjoy all the festivities at the ranch including a two acre corn maze along with clues posted inside. If you get all the answers correct, you will get a prize. Other activities include live pig races, a small straw bale maze for little folks, a bouncy house, panning for gold, petting zoo, miniature horse rides, horse drawn hay rides, vendors, live entertainment and refreshments.
On Saturday nights, beginning at 7 p.m., bring a flashlight for the night crawler maze adventure. Prizes are also given if you can find the clues. Free drinks and snacks are served with admission price. A haunted hay ride is also in the works for that Saturday night event.
During the week nights, groups may rent the night maze for their own personal meeting or group outing. Also during the weekdays, the Corley Ranch offers to the public and private schools, educational programs for their students.
