A private memorial service will be announced at a later date for Kathleen Koreen Bobula, 64, who died Sept. 17, 2007, at her home in Gardnerville.
Mrs. Bobula was born Sept. 2, 1943, in Rockford, Ill., to Gordon and Iris Fowler. She had 14 years of formal schooling and graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington, Wis. Mrs. Bobula was a resident of Burlington until she moved to Gardnerville 37 years ago. She married James Bobula in Carson City and spent her career as a homemaker, bookkeeper and running a grooming business. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Reno and had many certificates for 4-H, FFA and watercolor painting. Mrs. Bobula enjoyed painting, cooking, fishing, camping and raising animals.
Mrs. Bobula was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Fowler and her grandfather Vern Crocker.
She is survived by her husband James of Gardnerville; her mother Iris Fowler; son Todd Bobula, stepson Paul Brown, daughters Tinna Bobula, Tearra Bobula, Tracy Coto-Valentin and Nick Arneson; her sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Arnold Johnson, as well as 10 grandchildren and other extended family.
Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville. Dean Fred
1948-2007
A funeral service was Saturday at the Stewart Baptist Church in Carson City for Dean Fred, 58, who died Sept, 17, 2007, at Woodfords.
Mr. Fred was born Sept. 18, 1948, in Dresslerville to Duman and Vernita Wade Fred. He was a graduate of Douglas High School and worked as a union painter.
He was preceded in death by his mother Vernita Fred October 1978 in Woodfords, his father June 20, 2003, in Reno and his brother David Fred Oct. 18, 1979, in San Jose, Calif.
He is survived by his wife Ronda Fred of Carson City; his children Lawanda Fred of Gardnerville, Sylvia Fred of Lawrence, Kan., Lisa Fred of Carson City, Marsha Fred of Carson City, Cassandra Fred of Woodfords, sons Chris Fred of Carson City, L.V. Fred of Carson City, Freddie Fred of White River, Ariz.; sisters Charlene Fred and Andrea Fred of Woodfords as well as 18 grandchildren.
Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City. Burial will take place at Woodfords Cemetery in Woodfords.
