A man identified as escaped murderer Robert Charles Johnson, 57, is scheduled to appear in East Fork Justice Court this morning. According to U.S. Marshals, Johnson was living in the Gardnerville Ranchos under the assumed name Robert Neal Fargo. Johnson escaped from prison in Colorado where he'd been convicted of second-degree murder in the shooting death of another man. Extradition proceedings will begin to take Johnson back to Colorado.
The Associated Press is reporting that the search for Steve Fossett will head south to near Death Valley. According to the department of public safety, air and ground searchers will take a look at an area on the Nevada-California border near the Silver Peak Range. Searchers will visit the area over the weekend. A lead was developed by the U.S. Air Force.
