Volleyball: Tigers escape with win against Yerington

The Lady Tigers completed their season sweep of the defending regional champions and state champions for the top three classes with a five-set win over defending 3A champ Yerington Wednesday night.


Douglas took the win 25-11, 23-25, 25-16, 21-25, 15-10.


Jourdan Burke led the way with 16 kills, five blocks, eight digs and six service points, and Jessica Waggoner came back to record eight kills, nine blocks and two digs.


Megan Mitchell had an impressive 46 assists, Melissa Brown put up five kills and three aces and Taryn Williams had 12 service points, five kills, three aces and eight digs.


Mysta Townsell had two aces and 10 digs and Mary Lombino had 13 digs.


Christine DuPuis finished with four kills, Allie Hughes had three kills and Alyssa Todd finished with two kills.
