Mario 'Junior' Generelli
1958-2008
A memorial service is 11 a.m. April 12 for 25-year Markleeville resident Mario "Junior" Generelli, 49, who died March 8, 2008, in Salt Lake City, Utah. A gathering of family and friends at 1005 Fairway in Gardnerville will follow the service at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane.
Born April 4, 1958, in Palo Alto, Calif., to Mario and Marilyn Generelli, he lived in Menlo Park, Calif., prior to moving to Markleeville.
Mr. Generelli worked as a carpenter in Carson Valley for 25 years.
He is preceded in death by his brother John Henry Generelli.
He is survived by son Steven Blummer of Gardnerville; his parents; a nephew, Mario Generelli of Gardnerville; many aunts, uncles, cousins and lifetime friends.
Bernice L. Gearhart
1919-2008
A funeral service is 11 a.m. today at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville for Minden resident Bernice L. Gearhart, 88, who died March 26, 2008, in Gardnerville.
Born July 6, 1919, in Chicago to Richard and Anna Mooney, she married Clyde "O.C." Gearhart in 1941. She worked as a business manager for many years. She lived in Elm Grove, Wis., before moving to Minden 10 years ago.
She enjoyed animals, plants, travel and the outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 14, 1994, in Elm Grove, and son James on May 18, 1988, in Milwaukee, Wis.
Mrs. Gearhart is survived by son and daughter-in-law Dan and Judith Gearhart; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden. Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville.
Voyle McGilvira
Fairbanks
1928-2008
A memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday in Salt Lake City for 16-year Minden resident Voyle McGilvira Fairbanks, 79, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Fairbanks died March 31, 2008, in Carson City.
Born Oct. 11, 1928, in Payson, Utah, he married Isabel Elkins after his discharge from the military in 1953. She preceded him in death in 1988. He was a longtime resident of Kearns, Utah.
He was employed with Kennecott Copper, retiring after 40 years. He was a negotiator for the United Transportation Union for 25 years. After retiring, he worked for St. Mary's Hospital as a security guard.
Mr. Fairbanks moved to Minden in 1992 and married Claudia Nerdin.
He is survived by his wife; sons Paul Elkins of Kearns, Myron Fairbanks of St. George, Utah; daughter Madelayne Langton of West Valley City, Utah; stepdaughters, Wendy Aiello of Lincoln, Calif., Lori Barwig of Reno, and Stacy Giannetto of Truckee, Calif.; sister Zella Heineman of Kearns; brother Don Young of Springville, Utah; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
