Smoke from a rekindled controlled burn was visible from Carson City this afternoon.
The fire was located south of Waterloo Lane and east of Highway 88 in central Carson Valley.
East Fork firefighters from Minden, Genoa and Sheridan Acres responded to the 2:30 p.m. blaze.
The fire blackened about 10 acres of pasture. Cattle on the property were herded away from the blaze, which was under control by 5 p.m.
No structures were threatened.
