Applications are being accepted for artist participation in the Douglas County Historical Society's Art and Wine Festival. The festival will be 4-8 p.m. July 19 on the front lawn of the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville.

The event also features wine tasting, music and food booths set up in the parking lot. The public will be invited to enjoy music, food and wine and purchase the displayed art.

Artists can apply for a 10-foot by 10-foot booth space by filling out an application and providing two to four photos of examples of their work. There is a $25 application fee. This will be a juried art show.

Original work will be accepted in the following media: oils, pastels, watercolors, tempera, monotypes, lithographs, photographs, pottery, clay, porcelain and jewelry. Non-original art or crafts will not be accepted.

Space will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis and booths must be set up by 3 p.m. July 19. For information or to request an application, visit the Douglas County Historical Society at 1477 Highway 395 in Gardnerville, or call 782-2555.
