- A new hotline has been established to bear the brunt of complaints about Northern Nevada bruins. According to figures released by the Nevada Department of Wildlife on Tuesday, Carson Valley residents were responsible for more complaints about bears than any other area.

- While languishing under a slump in residential construction, commercial work has continued at a steady pace in Carson Valley, with three developments moving forward.

- North Valley resident Stuart L. Posselt has announced he is running for Douglas County Board of Commissioners District 5 seat. The seat is presently held by Commission Chairman Kelli Kite.
