The Douglas High softball team ran its win streak to six Saturday at Lake Tahoe, sweeping a doubleheader from the South Tahoe Vikings 11-3, 9-3.
Tiger pitcher Stephanie Harper struck out nine and walked three in the complete-game win in game one while Dorothy Sliva struck out one in picking up the win in game two.
Catcher Katrina Morgan had a big day, doubling twice, hitting a home run and driving in seven runs.
Mackenzie Cauley tripled twice, Harper doubled, tripled and drove in three runs, Lauren Hoppe doubled three times and drove in two runs, and Morgan Blomstrom doubled and drove in three runs.
Marina Diaz also had an RBI in the doubleheader..
Douglas improved to 15-5 overall and 9-3 in league play and will take on Hug this week.
The Lady Tiger junior varsity squad took two of three games from South Tahoe, coming up on the short end of a 3-2 battle Thursday and turning around a sweep on Saturday, 19-0, 8-0.
On Thursday, Naomi Roberts was 3-for-4 with a triple. Erika Evans was 2-for-3 with a double. Brenna White and Kendra Blum each had a single.
Megan Michitarian pitched the entire game giving up only four hits while striking out eight.
In the first game Saturday, Douglas had 13 hits led by White, who was 3-for-5 with five RBIs.
Blum, Michitarian and Evans all went 2-for-4. Rachel Davis , Shay Swails, Bodean Callahan, and Nicky Chavez each had a hit. Michitarian pitched four innings, striking out 11 and Blum pitched the last inning, striking out one.
The second game saw Michitarian pitch a seven-inning no-hitter with 14 strikeouts.
The hitting again was led by White, who went 3-for-4. Michitarian and Roberts both went 2-for-4. Michitarian had a double. Blum had a double. Davis, Evans, and Chavez each had a hit.
