The Douglas County Historical Society's Historic Emigrant Trail Barn Tour is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 24. The Van Sickle and Jubilee, some of the first barns built in Nevada, are included on the tour.
Ticket price of $25 per person includes the tour, a barbecue lunch provided by the Douglas County Farm Bureau, living history performances and free admission to the Genoa Court House Museum and the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center.
The Emigrant Trail Barn Tour is part of Historic Preservation Month. Proceeds from the barn tour benefit the Douglas County Historical Society and with the operation of the Genoa Court House Museum and the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville.
