Coming off their best game of the season Thursday, the Douglas High softball team parlayed the momentum into a doubleheader sweep of Damonte Ranch Saturday in Reno.
Douglas took 6-4 and 7-6 wins over the Mustangs to sweep the three-game series and clinch the No. 2 seed in the Sierra League heading into the Northern 4A Regional playoffs in two weeks.
In game one, Lauren Hoppe drove in three runs and went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the team while Katrina Morgan drove in two and Emily Weaver drove in one.
Weaver and Marina Diaz each went 2-for-4 at the plate and Morgan, Stephanie Harper, Donna Judd and Mia Townsell each had one hit.
Harper picked up the win in the circle, striking out four and walking one.
The Lady Tigers pounded out 16 hits in game two, highlighted by 3-for-4 clips at the plate from Mackenzie Cauley and Morgan Blomstrom. Blomstrom had three RBIs to lead the team.
Harper again took the win, striking out one and walking two.
Douglas closes out its regular season this week with a three-game series against Wooster.
