The World T'ai Chi/Qigong Day event in Minden on Saturday, April 26, was a great success, with at least 50 people participating, but would not have been the success it was without the efforts of many persons and groups.

First of all, the Town of Minden must have many thanks for the cooperation of the office staff, Sheila and Trish, and the CVIC custodian, Don Wilcks, and of course, use of the park. The Douglas County Recreation Department, as co-sponsor of the event, must also deserve thanks. The Record-Courier was of great help with pre-event and post-event coverage in the paper.

Staff functions were registrar Helen Swanson, sound operator Byron Waite, announcer Airline Zeidler, videographer Chochain Lee, still photographer Warren Harnden, and Web site updates Diane Cooling. All were needed to make everything work. Even, the certificate of recognition from Gov. Jim Gibbons added to the festivities.

The routine and exercise leaders all need to be recognized as well. Doug Armstrong and his group of eight from Reno were very much appreciated. Syena Sowden from Fallon was great in leading her MoTiYoGaChi routine. Rick Eyester from Reno gave us an awareness of breathing with his leadership.

Thanks to all for their leadership and participation.
