A little over a week after signing a minor-league baseball contract with the Washington Nationals, Douglas High graduate Bryan Miller got called up to the Single-A Hagerstown, Md., Suns.
After earning NCAA first-team All-American status as a senior outfielder for Troy University, Miller went undrafted in the MLB amateur draft in June.
He signed with Washington last week and played just three games with the rookie-league Gulf Coast Nationals in Florida.
He had three RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base during his short stint in Florida.
Miller graduated from Douglas in 2004 and earned All-American status first at Mesa College and later at Troy. He led the country in hits and doubles this past season.
