A private memorial service will be held for longtime Stateline resident Vera Bucolo, 81, who died Aug. 3, 2008, at her home in Gardnerville.

Mrs. Bucolo was born Dec. 19, 1926, in Los Angeles, to Rinaldo and Bice Falabella. She married Anthony Bucolo July 28, 1946, at Monterey Park, Calif.

Mrs. Bucolo worked as a receptionist for the Tahoe-Douglas Chamber of Commerce. She was a Stateline resident for 33 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Mrs. Bucolo is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Ficki and Fred Hitchcock; her sister Silvia Griffith; niece Ruth Oslin and nephews Paul Griffith and Diante Falabella.

A memorial service is noon Aug. 23 at the Charity Valley Ranch cabin for Carson Valley rancher and businessman Bennie T. DiSalvo, who died Jan. 19, 2008, at his home in Gardnerville.

He was born Nov. 28, 1930, in San Jose, Calif., to Theresa and Salvatore DiSalvo.

Mr. DiSalvo came to Carson Valley 35 years ago.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Vince and Nick.

He is survived by his wife Sherry of Gardnerville; daughter and son-in-law Kit and Lee Madsen of Greybull, Wyo.; son and daughter-in-law Ben and Tami DiSalvo of Gardnerville; brother Sal DiSalvo of Gardnerville; sister Theresa Mancino of San Jose; five grandchildren, Jeff, Wil, Theresa, Kaytlynn and Ben; and one great grandson, Rowan.

An inurnment service is 11 a.m. Monday at Garden Cemetery in Gardnerville for native Nevadan Martha C. Neddenriep, 86, a longtime Gardnerville resident and former owner of Carson Valley Mercantile Store. Mrs. Neddenriep died Aug, 4, 2008, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born May 30, 1922, in Reno, to Francis Dewill Burke and Mary M. Schultz, she was raised by her grandparents in Smith Valley, where she lived for most of her life and was very active in 4-H.

She graduated from Smith Valley schools and later attended Reno Business College. She worked several years in Smith Valley and later she and her husband of 56 years, Louis, purchased the Carson Valley Mercantile which they operated for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Tim and Charley Burke.

Survivors include husband Louis (Luke); daughter Katie Sarratea; two sons, David and Douglas; two sisters, Francis Anker and Lizz Carner; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church or Douglas County Historical Society.
