Red Flag Warning: The R-C Morning Report

A red flag warning has been issued for the Sierra Front from Lake Tahoe to Mono County. Dry air and gusty winds have prompted the National Weather Service to issue the warning. Winds of 15-25 mph are expected with gusts of 30-35 mph. Winds are expected to peak around 2 p.m. The Weather Service issues a red flag warning when critical fire weather conditions occur.

The polls down at the CVIC Hall in Minden open at 8 a.m. for the last day of early voting. They'll stay open through 6 p.mThursday saw the best turn-out for early voting so far, with 330 people casting a ballot at in Minden and at the Johnson Lane Fire Station. At end of business on Thursday, 2,371 people had voted early.

The polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Unlike early voting, you'll have to go to your precinct to cast a ballot. If you didn't receive a sample ballot, check the clerk's Web site at http://cltr.co.douglas.nv.us/elections/electioncenterhome.shtm and hit the big red checkmark.
