Benefit for Gardnerville motorcyclist is Friday

A benefit for Gardnerville resident Kathy Bluethman, who was injured in a July 2 Kingsbury Grade motorcycle accident, is 10 p.m. Friday at Genoa Lakes Golf Club.

Admission to the Love of Kathy benefity is $25 per person at the door and includes dinner, music and additional fundraising events.

Proceeds for the benefit of Kathy Bluethman. Donations can be made at any California or Nevada Bank of America to the Kathy Bluethman Medical Fund.

Bluethman was injured while riding her motorcycle near Juniper Drive. According to a witness, she was ejected from the motorcyle when she locked up her brakes to avoid a pickup that made a left-hand turn in front of her.

Bluethman served as a substitute teacher in Douglas County and was a South Tahoe High School teacher and track coach for 12 years.
