Masons award scholarship

Andy Anderson, Worshipful Master of Carson Valley Masonic Lodge No. 33 in Gardnerville and Win Ho, Worshipful Master of Carson Lodge No. 1 in Carson City presented a $500 scholarship to Western Nevada College student Rebecca England. England is a 2008 graduate of Douglas High School and is working on a degree in veterinarian services. From left, Anderson, England and Ho. Masons and Sojourners meet at Sharkey's every Friday for brunch and contribute $1 to a scholarship fund, which in 11 years has raised more than $11,000 for area students for continuing education.
