Tickets on sale for 'Curse of the Hanging Tree'

Tickets are on sale for "The Curse of the Hanging Tree" at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395 in Gardnerville and the Genoa Court House Museum. Performances of the Douglas County Historical Society's "The Curse of the Hanging Tree" are at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday in downtown Genoa.

Musical entertainment provided by All Hat No Cattle in front of the Masonic Lodge in Genoa.

Tickets are $15 per person. Advanced tickets are recommended as there are 55 seats per performance. To order tickets by credit card, call 782-2555. There is an additional $1 charge for postage and handling.

"The Curse of the Hanging Tree" is based on an actual lynching and ticket holders will visit some of the actual sites where events took place in 1897.

The play is a fundraiser for the Douglas County Historical Society and helps support its two museums. Information and reservations, 782-2555.
