The second annual Sustainable Living and Renewable Energy Roundup is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 13 and 14 at Lampe Park in Gardnerville. The mission of the Sustainable Living and Renewable Energy Roundup is to promote sustainable practices, renewable energy and environmental responsibility in the way people work, play and live. The fair supports and encourages area green businesses, working toward a sustainable community.
The free green living fair includes workshop presentations on renewable energy, transportation, energy and water conservation, landscaping, organic gardening and agriculture and green building. The goal is to give people ideas to use for reducing energy needs and costs.
Workshop presentation slots are filled but there are still openings for exhibitors. Applications are available at www.cvsustainables.org.
The event features exhibitors from area businesses and organizations, a children's tent where children can practice paper making and solar oven cooking, food vendors and live music by the Bar BQ Boys on Saturday and the Living Picture Show on Sunday. T-shirts designed and printed by students from Rita Borselli's screen printing classes at Douglas High School will be for sale.
The event is sponsored in part by Sunrise Sustainable Resources Group.
