Topaz barbecue fundraiser Sunday

Donations needed for flea market
The Elks host a flea market, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 5 and 6, at the Elks Lodge, 1276 Pit Road, Suite C, in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
Among the items featured in the sale are books, craft supplies, kitchenware, sweaters, furniture, holiday decor and items from St. Gall Catholic Church's rummage sale. The lodge is accepting donations of usuable items. No books or magazines.

Free movie in the park Sept. 5
The Town of Gardnerville's last movie in the park of the summer is Disney's "Meet the Robinsons" at dusk Sept. 5 in Heritage Park in Gardnerville.
Bring a blanket, sand chairs and bug repellent to watch movies under the stars. Pack a picnic or enjoy treats offered by Carson Valley Lions Club and Boy Scout Troop 411, Coldstone Creamery, Papa Murphy's Take 'N Bake Pizza and Subway.
