"Christmas Attitudes" features cowbells, bullhorns, blackouts, physical comedy, mimes and mannequins in seven short skits about people and their attitudes about Christmas.
The Douglas High School drama department presents their holiday production of "Christmas Attitudes" by Randy Galvin on Dec. 11-14.
"It goes quick " we're not asking for more than two hours of your time," said Douglas drama instructor Amy Sando.
"It's light, short and sweet. 'Christmas Attitudes' shows us how people think of Christmas."
A surprise feature of the play is the acting debut of an unnamed member of the Douglas High School staff in the role of Santa Claus.
The titles of the scenes are "Christmas is singing and dancing," "Man on a ledge," "Automatic Santa," "The show window," "Santa Claus and the judge," "Another show window" and "One day in the life of an X-mas present."
Rachel Kiehne is the student director and all of the 16 cast members have jobs creating sets, providing news releases and designing tickets and posters. The actors are also the backstage crew and handle the lights and properties.
"Christmas Attitudes" is performed at 7 p.m. Dec. 11, 12 and 13 and at 2 p.m. Dec. 13 and 14. Tickets are $5 in advance, $6 at the door or $5 with a canned food donation. Information, 782-5136.
