at Buckaroos

n The Rustlers play 8 p.m. to midnight today. The Rustlers cover hard-core country music by Montgomery Gentry, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn and Dierks Bently. The Carson City-based band is Ev Musselman on guitar and lead vocals, Larry Goldman on bass guitar and vocals, Brian Williams on lead guitar and vocals, Jim Park on pedal steel guitar and Russ Hohenberger on drums and vocals.

n Ted Nagel hosts karaoke, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., every Saturday.

n Dale Jantzen hosts karaoke, 8-11 p.m. every Wednesday.

Carson Valley Inn entertainment

The Millionaire$ appear through Sunday and various duos entertain on Monday nights. Cabaret Lounge entertainment is presented with no cover and no minimum in 45-minute shows at 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 p.m.

Rick and Dana are The Millionaire$ featuring strong vocals and musicianship. This two-piece act plays top 40, classic rock and pop music.

The Robeys take the Cabaret Lounge stage Tuesday and play until Dec. 14. Buford and Shirley Robey have performing together since 1986 and play rock 'n' roll favorites, oldies, top 40, blues, jazz, reggae and country songs from the 1930s to present. With their extensive repertoire, The Robeys enjoy answering requests to play a little something for everyone.

Music at Indigo

n Live acoustic music by Acoustic Solution, 8 p.m. tonight. Acoustic Solution is John, Wendy and Seth Andrews who play eclectic folk and electrified acoustic music on a collection of instruments ranging from guitars, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, piano, percussion and drums. The band plays covers by Crosby, Stills and Nash, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Grateful Dead, and original material.

Concert series begins Dec. 12

The Carson Valley Arts Council 2008-09 concert series begins with Celtic guitarist Tony McManus, 7 p.m. Dec. 12 at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda in Minden. A wine, beer and cheese reception sponsored by Tahoe Ridge Winery is at 6 p.m. Desserts by Bravo Cafe & Bakery served at 8:30 p.m. Admission is a $15 donation at the door. Information, 782-8207.


Choir presents Christmas concert

Shepherd of the Sierra Lutheran Church presents "The Music of Christmas," 2 p.m. Dec. 14, at the church, 3680 Highway 395, north of Jacks Valley Road. The Shepherd of the Sierra Chancel Choir sings traditional Christmas carols in a concert to benefit the fund to purchase an organ for the church. A freewill offering will be available.

'Babes in Toyland'

Carson Performing Arts Capitol Stars and BACStage Kids present "Babes in Toyland" at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 449 West King St., Carson City.

The holiday musical is performed 7 p.m. today, Saturday and Dec. 12, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13 and Dec. 14.
