What a beautiful blue sky to come home to! After spending several days "over the mountain" in Livermore, we remembered how the climate there is a lot different than here. It's warmer there and also has more clouds and humidity.
We were practically the only vehicle on Highway 88 on the morning before Thanksgiving Day. The road was icy near Kirkwood and we also had some sleet and snow. We saw some kids ice skating on a small pond and I was worried that they might fall in. That would be terrible. As we continued to drive down to a lower elevation the snow turned to rain and it stayed raining all the way to Jackson and Stockton.
As we neared the big city area, we saw some tents under the freeway bridge and some homeless people in there. Very sad. There was also a bunch of birds all snuggled together outside on the power line. When we saw thousands of wind mills on the rolling hills we knew we were close to our brother Steve and Kathy's house.
After driving miles and miles around farms and orchards we stopped at a little fruit and vegetable stand where they sold walnuts, almonds, apples, potatoes, squashes, yams and persimmons. Did I forget grapes? There are many vineyards in Livermore and I suddenly remembered the time that we went wine tasting at six of them. That was enough for our little Aunt Bette. She is a very petite woman and just a little wine that she drank at six wineries was enough to start her singing and dancing around in the wine tasting rooms. Whoa girl " take it easy! Now it's time for Thanksgiving.
In our prayers
Joey Jacobsen " he's loved by so many people. My heart aches for all the pain that the family is going through now. Our prayers are for him, and for them.
Another big worry in my heart right now is about Tiffany Jones Radtke. Tiffany is Bonnie and Ray Jones' daughter and well-known to everyone in Fish Springs. We're keeping her on the prayer list until she is 100 percent healthy again. God bless her and all the family and loved ones.
Tidbit
Last week I wrote about receiving a medical bill that was just 34 cents and whether I should ignore it. Well, this week I received another bill for only 5 cents. I guess I'll just sleep on that.
