A blood drive in honor of Douglas High senior Bailey Piper will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the CVIC Hall in downtown Minden.
Piper, 18, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer.
Since August, she has been in the Ronald McDonald House in Houston, Texas.
Family members came up with the blood drive as a way to honor Piper and spread awareness about the disease.
Donations can be made to the family at the blood drive.
To schedule an appointment, call Danielle at (775) 901-2818 or Crickett at 782-3533.
