Dominic A. Cameneti, 78, died Dec. 5, 2008, in Gardnerville after a brief battle with cancer.
Born April 14, 1930, in Springfield, Ohio, to Antonio and Nancy (Viole) Cameneti, he graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1948. Mr. Cameneti joined the U.S. Air Force in October 1948 and was honorably discharged in 1951. He then moved to California and held various positions with Western Exterminators.
He later he owned and operated Sam's Deli in Camarillo, Calif., and also Continental Deli in Ventura, Calif.
After retiring, he moved to Gardnerville where he enjoyed the small town life, fishing in the local lakes, bowling, spending time with his family, and time with friends at the Carson Valley Inn.
Mr. Cameneti is survived by his wife Helen; children Allison, Cathy, Cindy, Michael, Randy, all residing in Nevada and California; brother James (Josephine) Cameneti of Warren, Ohio; two sisters Catherine (Sam) Chieffo of Banning, Calif., and Rose (Joseph) Mussi of Palm Desert, Calif.; many grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cameneti was cremated. Donations be made in his name to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Walton's Douglas County Mortuary, Minden.
