Knights bingo night benefits breast cancer

The Gardnerville council of the Knights of Columbus dedicate today's bingo night to the Breast Cancer Resource Center at the Carson Valley Medical Center. Doors open at 6 p.m., play starts at 7 p.m. at St. Gall Catholic Church, 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville.

The Breast Cancer Resource Center provides information and support to those affected by breast cancer. The center is operated by Susan Sanford and a team of volunteers who staff a breast cancer support group, the Look Good Feel Better public service program, yoga sessions and a lending library. The funds donated by the Knights will support ongoing operations. Information on the center, Susan Sanford, 782-1656.

The Knights of Columbus Bingo Nights provide funds to support community projects and are open to those 21 and older. Players purchase $20 game packs that include a three-card warm-up, 10 game cards, one raffle ticket and one progressive blackout game card. Additional blackout game cards may be purchased. On Dec. 19, jackpots are $1,199 for big bucks bonus blackout, $900 for the progressive blackout and $440 for hot ball. Food and drinks available for purchase.
