The deadline has been extended for applicants to the Genoa Town Board after no one filed for the position nor ran for election to the four-year post.
The county set a Dec. 26 deadline for applicants to the nonpaying position. County commissioners are to make an appointment Jan. 8 for the four-year term.
Applicants must submit resumes and letters of interest to the Douglas County Human Resources Office, 1616 Eighth Street, Minden, 89423, by 4 p.m. Dec. 26.
Applicants must be:
- Douglas County resident 30 days prior to appointment;
- Registered to vote in Nevada;
- Qualified elector;
- Resident of the unincorporated town;
- Minimum 18 years old;
- U.S. citizen.
At the end of the four-year term, the town board member will be required to file for election.
