More than 150 4-H members, leaders, supporters and parents gathered at the Carson Valley Methodist Church in Gardnerville on Dec. 15 for the annual Douglas County 4-H Awards Night Program.
Members of 4-H Teen Institute leadership program planned and hosted the evening. Mistress of ceremonies was Amber Friesen, a 10-year 4-H member. Presenting the colors were Kayla Boldrick and Danni Jordan.
Leading the Pledge of Allegiance were Sierra Montana and the 4-H pledge, Justine Cawthorne. The evening included a potluck, slide show and holiday caroling with piano by Mr. Wayne.

4-H takes a lot of time and effort and we're proud of all of our members. Two achievements recognized annually are member year pins and project medals. Year pins are earned by attending 75 percent of meetings and workouts, performing community service and exhibiting projects. Project medals are earned by meeting year pin requirements and completing portfolio/record books.
