The Douglas High girls' basketball team bounced back from a streak of three last-second losses to beat Lowry 58-47 Friday night in Winnemucca.
Douglas jumped out to a 20-5 first-quarter lead and held off a late run from the Buckaroos to pick up the win.
Jessica Waggoner led the way for the Tigers with 21 points while Ally Freitas added 14.
Taryn Williams scored eight points, Dany Heidt, Susie White and Bri Burnside each scored four, Maci Pfaffenberger and Katie Dry each scored two and Niki Hamzik added one in the win.
Lowry outscored Douglas 20-8 in the final period to make the game closer than it would have been as the Tigers had a 49-27 lead heading in.
Douglas improved to 4-5 on the year and will play in the Bulldog Classic in Las Vegas this weekend.
The Douglas girls' junior varsity squad opened up league play with a 46-10 win over Fallon last week.
The Tigers outscored the Greenwave 22-8 in the first half and held Fallon to just two second-half points in the win.
CJ Baumgartner led the team with 19 points while Carly McCullough had eight and Natalie Freitas had five.
McCullough had six steals and Alex Laing led the team with five rebounds.
Douglas improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in league play with a 25-19 win over Galena on Thursday.
Baumgartner had nine points to go with nine rebounds while Laing had seven points and six steals.
The Tigers wrapped up a busy week with a 30-15 win on the road at Lowry.
Douglas got balanced scoring as Baumgartner scored six points, Laing had five and Jennifer Gorton, Naomi Roberts and McCullough each had four.
Laing added seven rebounds, Baumgartner had six, Gorton finished with five and McCullough, Freitas and Cassidy Curtis each had four.
