Staff Reports
Members of the Carson Valley Photo Club decided to forego their monthly contest and share their all-time best photos at their regular monthly meeting.
One of the favorites was Ray Moore's panoramic photo of the Sierra Nevada Range from his porch in the Fish Springs area.
Ralph Elligott, using a tripod and remote shutte release, took dozens of photos of a hummingbird. His favorite captured the bird preparing to land, which he titled "Final Approach."
Twilight color reflected in the waters around a tugboat were photographed by Nancy Thompson in "Morning Tug."
More than a dozen pelicans swimming in formation were photographed by Terry Anderson, who titled the resulting shot "Pelicans Hunting."
The photo club meets 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville. Information, Pat Stanley, (775) 790-0440.
