It's Christmas Eve and a winter storm warning is in effect, according to the National Weather Service. There isn't much to look at outside right now, if fact it's kind of nice, but forecasters says to expect heavy snow north of Highway 50. More snow will fall tonight and Thursday morning. The winds will pick up tonight with gusts of up to 60 mph in wind prone areas.
The roads are mostly dry in Douglas, with the only controls in the entire county up at Spooner summit on Highway 50. This morning traffic is light, thanks in part to the holiday.
The Record-Courier will be closing up shop at 2 p.m. in honor of Christmas Eve. Don't worry, we ink-stained wretches will still be inside putting Friday's edition to bed. If you need to get through, e-mail me at khildebrand@recordcourier.com or call and use my extension, 215.
