Wisconsin man appointed assistant county manager

Stephen Mokrohisky, director of information technology business services for Milwaukee County, Wis., has been appointed assistant Douglas County manager.

County Manager T. Michael Brown announced the appointment Monday.

"After a national recruitment, Steve was selected from a large pool of qualified applicants based on his qualifications and his performance in four interviews," Brown said.

The salary range for the position is $88,690 to $118,580.

Brown said Mokrohisky is to start Feb. 2.

He has 10 years experience for Milwaukee County including chief of staff, associate director of parks and public works, and most recently director of information technology business services.

"As the assistant county manager, Steve will be focusing primarily on operations and will be responsible for the management of several county departments under the county manager's office," Brown said.

"Steve will also be actively assisting me in the development of the county's budget, capital improvement planning and financing, increasing county efficiency through technology, multi-department/agency collaboration and several key community-based projects."

Mokrohisky earned a bachelor of arts in political science from Marquette University and a masters in business administration from University of Wisconsin.

He is a resident of Milwaukee.
